I’m never usually one to celebrate Halloween. My ideal Halloween is usually spent cuddled up with my two witches cats. (And hoping we don’t get any trick or treaters so I can eat all the sweets we bought). If I do ever make an effort, it’s usually the stereotypical cat makeup just for the sake of it. But a few years ago I decided to try something different. I’d seen a few pictures of the kind of thing I wanted to do on the internet, and after I found all my Aromaleigh and Archetype samples recently I decided to try the mermaid look.
Now, I’m not going to beat around the bush. In order to achieve the scaly mermaid look, you need to put a pair of fishnet tights over your head. I’ll be honest, it probably wasn’t the most comfortable I’ve been in my life. But sometimes you just have to make sacrifices. My advice for this part of the application would be to make sure no one witnesses it.
Here are the colours I used to do this look.
Unfortunately, Archetype aren’t in business anymore, which is such a shame as they had some amazing colours! Aromaleigh are still around, but all the shades I used are from previous collections.
Anyway, here is the finished product:
I’m really happy with it! I spent ages on the contouring so I’m glad it came out well! Then I used the same colours on my eyes to pull the whole look together, and added some blue hair tinsel for extra effect. Let’s just ignore the dodgy eyeliner though please and thanks.
