Review: Too Faced “Peach My Cheeks” Blush

I have been on the hunt for the perfect peach blush for such a long time now. I thought I’d found it in NARS’ Orgasm blush but they started selling in China which meant they were no longer cruelty free. So, the option of repurchasing that went out the window.

Enter Too Faced.

I tend to go for the more affordable brands, so up until now I haven’t tried many of their products. Also, because I am embarking on a bit of a minimalism journey I don’t want to be purchasing products willy-nilly.

I’d love to take all the credit, but my husband actually chose it while he was on holiday in Sicily. He made the mistake of sending a photo of the Sephora store in Catania and asked if I needed anything. (Emphasis was on the word “need”). I said I’d been looking for the perfect peach blush, as peach blush looks good on everyone for any occasion.

He went for the Too Faced “Peach My Cheeks” blusher in the shade ‘So Peachy’.

It costs £25, so it’s at the top end of the budget I’d regularly spend on a blusher. (US $30, EURO €30.50).

Packaging

The first thing I noticed about this product was the packaging. The outer shell is shaped like an actual peach, in a pale pink shade with a hot pink leaf. I’m not normally a fan of novelty packaging, but I must admit that the packaging for this blush is cute. It reminds me of the  Polly Pockets I used to collect as a child. It also has a big round mirror in the lid. This would be great to have on the go, and it has a magnetic close so I’d say this it’s definitely handbag friendly.

Scent

The next thing I noticed about the blusher is the gorgeous scent. It’s infused with peach and sweet fig milk, and it smells absolutely divine. I adore this scent as I’m a huge fan of sweet, fruity smells. However, if you’re not too keen on those kinds of scents then it may put you off this product.

Texture & Pigmentation

This blush has a beautiful creamy, buttery texture to touch, but when applied it melts into a blendable lightweight powder. I can’t get cream blushers to cooperate with my skin, so I love that it applies as a powder. It’s super pigmented, but the fact that it’s a cream to powder texture helps during application to make sure that I’m not accidentally using too much. I think this blush is going to last me a long time. A little goes a really long way and it’s great for either a subtle, natural looking glow, or you can really build it up for a more dramatic look.

Colour

I think they’ve totally hit the nail on the head with all 6 shades in this collection. As well as giving a radiant glow on your cheeks, they can also be used on the lips. Aside from this beautiful matte peach shade, they have a couple of darker shades for darker skin tones or for lighter tones in the winter season – one nude and one berry shade. There’s a vibrant orange shade which would be perfect in the summer, a pale pink which would be great for pale skin, and a very wearable nude which would look good on everyone. Quite honestly, I want all of them!

Too Faced are a completely cruelty free brand, and this product is also vegan, both of which are really important to me.

One of the most important factors in any makeup product I buy is the durability. I’ve spent years fighting with products which just end up sliding off my face by lunchtime, so it’s great to find something which lasts all day.

All in all, I really like this product. Due to the high cost I’m not sure if it’s something I’d purchase regularly. But to be honest, because it lasts so long I don’t think I’d need to repurchase it again any time soon. So for that reason I’d say it’s definitely worth the money in the long run.
