Green People: Vegan and Cruelty Free Skin and Body Care Review [AD]

Since going vegan and cruelty free there has been one particular skin and body care brand which has stood out. In terms of both ethical and economical values, Green People are definitely a favourite. Their products are natural and organic, free from SLS, parabens, phthalates, alcohol, harsh foaming agents, irritating emulsifiers, synthetic fragrance, petrochemicals, among many other things.

I’ve had trouble with my skin for many years. In the past I’ve always used the most powerful products to try and combat the oil production. It took me a long time to realise was that I was doing more harm than good. The reason my skin was so oily was because the harsh products were drying it out, and that promoted more oil production. This left me stuck in a cycle of oil – harsh products – dry skin – oil production, and so on. It’s only recently that I’ve started using more gentle products suitable for sensitive skin. Since making the switch I’ve really seen a huge difference and my skin feel so much happier.

When specifically looking for vegan and cruelty free skin and body care products, it can be tricky to find products that work for you. But as Green People’s products are so gentle and natural I knew I’d be onto a winner.

Recently I received a couple of new products in the Green People skin and body care range to test out and review. After trying them out I can definitely see these products becoming staples in my skincare arsenal.

Manuka & Lemon Tea Tree Antibacterial Hand Wash – £13.00

I’m quite surprised at how much I loved this hand wash. I honestly didn’t think that a hand wash could be particularly special. But I have to say, Green People proved me wrong. This is the only hand wash I’ve used which has ever left my hands feeling more moisturised and hydrated afterwards. It lathers so well and it has a really soft, silky feeling to it which is just gorgeous. Many hand washes I’ve tried tend to dry my hands out but this one seems to do the opposite. It’s PH balanced and so gentle on the hands, and the manuka and tea tree kills harmful bacteria super quickly so it would be great to have in either my kitchen or the bathroom.

Manuka & Lemon Tea Tree Hand Cream – £12.50

Firstly, I am completely obsessed with the gorgeous citrus scent! It’s a 50ml tube which is a great size. Big enough to feel like good value for money, small enough to fit inside my handbag so I can take it on the go. A little goes a long way too so I know it’s going to last me quite a long time. I’m actually going to Copenhagen next week (a place which is notorious for being very cold) and this hand cream will definitely be coming with me. The Lemon Tea Tree oil is great for healing dry hands, and it also has squalane (from Olive) and Shea Butter which is great for moisturising and keeping the hands hydrated and nourished.

Another noteworthy thing to mention about Green People is their packaging. All of the packaging is recyclable, from the cardboard box right down to the plastic tubes of their products. They also make much of it from recycled materials. Also included in the package is 100% biodegradable corn starch packing nuggets. These everything safe during transit, and you can dissolve the nuggets in water so there is literally no waste at all.

Overall I’m so pleased with both of these products – they tick all of the boxes. If I were in the position to spend £13/£12.50 on a hand care, I would definitely purchase these two. Green People were also kind enough to send me a superfood haircare travel set. I’m going to use when I’m away, so keep your eyes peeled for a review of those coming shortly.
