[AD] Outback Organics – An Ethical Skincare Brand for 2020

Since going cruelty free and vegan a few years ago, I’ve been very conscious about the skincare products I use. It took me longer than it should to realise that gentle, natural ingredients are the way to go instead of nasty, harsh chemicals. Over the past few years I’ve built up a great arsenal of natural, ethical products in my beauty regime. But, now I have another great addition to my bathroom, and to my life; Outback Organics.
Outback Organics are an ethical skincare brand based in my home county of Somerset, England. They offer a range of gorgeous botanical skincare solutions, fusing the latest cosmetic ingredients with innovative natural extracts from the coastline, forests, and bush lands of Australia. All of their products are free from parabens, synthetic colouring & fragrances, and other harsh chemicals. They are completely cruelty free, and many of their products are also vegan. (Although make sure to check the ingredients if you are specifically looking for vegan products). Many of their products contain either pure, organic tea tree or lemon myrtle oil – two of nature’s strongest known antiseptics.
They were kind enough to send me some of their gorgeous products to try. In this post I’m going to share them all with you today and tell you how I got on with them. (Keep an eye out for my discount code below!)

Skin Wash – 100ml – £7.55 (Other sizes available)
This multi-use skin wash is so gorgeous and invigorating! It has peppermint and tea tree which not only smells amazing, but is great for the skin and perfect for those days when you need a bit of an energy boost! You can use it all over the face and body, as a rinse-off facial cleanser, a hand wash, or a revitalising bath or shower gel. I like to use it in the shower as a great way to wake me up. Personally, I’d avoid using it all over my face. When I’ve done this in the past the tea tree has dried out my sensitive skin – but if your skin is more on the oily side then this would be perfect. (Lads – only use this in the shower if you enjoy tingly bits!)
Face & Body Scrub – 100ml – £8.99 (Other sizes available)
This product is exactly what the world needs more of….a GENTLE facial scrub! Hallelujah! I’ve struggled so much finding an exfoliator that doesn’t feel like a cheese grater on my face, and this fits the bill perfectly! It’s infused with bergamot orange, sandalwood, patchouli and rose oils and enriched with natural organic cucumber extract. It smells gorgeous and it leaves the skin feeling smooth and moisturised, and it gives you that nice tingly feeling after a good exfoliation session. It’s also great to help the prevention or treatment of ingrown hairs after waxing or shaving.
Aloe Gel – 100ml – £11.00 (Other sizes available)
Generally, aloe vera gel is very much a ‘does-what-it-says-on-the-tin’ sort of product. Aloe vera is amazing, but without any additional ingredients there isn’t much that makes most aloe vera products different from other aloe products. This is where Outback Organics are different. Their aloe gel contains beta-glucan, which is a natural alternative to hyaluronic acid, and is derived from oats. This gives their aloe gel extra wonderful soothing, restorative and moisturising properties to give a long-lasting effect on the skin. The 100g size is also great for travelling, as aloe vera is very widely used as a remedy for sunburn, as well as a magic gel for cuts, spots, bites, stings, the list goes on!

Lemon Myrtle Hand & Body Lotion – 100ml £8.50
This lotion is probably my favourite of all the products I received from Outback Organics. It took me ages to figure out what the sweet lemon scent reminded me of, then it hit me – lemon strepsils! It’s great as a handbag essential or for in your bathroom for after your bath or shower. Or – take it on holiday and use it after sunbathing to help prolong your tan! It’s really light and easy to apply, which I personally love as there’s nothing I hate more than heavy, buttery creams that take ages to sink in.
Biodegradable Wet Wipes – 25pk – £2.99
Normally, I don’t like wet wipes. I actively avoid them because they’re single-use plastic, not recyclable or biodegradable, and generally just full of chemicals. However, I can absolutely get on board with their biodegradable wet wipes. They contain aloe, chamomile, and lemon myrtle, making them gentle on the skin and suitable to use on children. These wipes have gone straight in my car for messy situations on the go!
They also included a cute EVA travel bag (worth £3.24), which is great for travelling as it’s airport-friendly, as well as being eco-friendly and biodegradable. (Even the zip is biodegradable!)

Overall, I absolutely love all of these products, and for me, it was a great introduction to this wonderful brand. Not only do they contain lovely, natural ingredients, but their products are also very affordable which is a huge plus for me.
Outback Organics offer so many more ethical skincare products on their website, as well as candles and massage oils (both of which I’ve been eyeing up!). Many of their products are also great to use in salons – they have an amazing range of waxes and other salon equipment.
