Clockwise from top right I’ve made: piña colada, an unnamed lemoncello concoction, pimms, and mojito. I also made a sex on the beach but that one didn’t freeze as well as the others, so I need to work on the recipe. Alcohol doesn’t freeze, so it needs the right amount of binding ingredient (I used maple syrup), and I’m thinking I didn’t add enough of it. That’s just an excuse to make some more though right?😉

Secondhand Sunday • I’ve talked a lot about buying second hand items, but this week I want to talk about a different second hand method - swapping.

I’m one of those people who is lucky enough to have a best friend who wears roughly the same size clothes and shoes as me. And because we are at that stage in our friendship where we are past the point of politeness, it’s now the law that whenever either of us gets rid of anything, the other always has first dibs.

I remember eyeing up this red boohoo dress for AGES when @littlepackofvegans had it, and I waited patiently, then one day when I was helping her KonMari her wardrobe - it was mine🖤

I don’t care that it has a button missing and the back could do with sewing up (she bought it second hand herself), I absolutely love it and I get so much use out of it. In fact I love it so much that when I saw a black version of it on eBay, I bought that too 😹 (swipe to see that version). Do you have any unspoken agreements like this with your friends?

Not far from where I live, there’s a bit of the M5 that goes over a river. Even though you only get a glimpse of where it leads, it’s obvious that you can see quite far up the river. Whenever I drive over this particular section, I always think to myself “I’ll go and get a photo of that one day”. Well...this is one day.

I’m often so distracted by my love for the Lake

I’m often so distracted by my love for the Lake District that I forget that I have two beautiful National Parks practically on my doorstep.

Went exploring round Exmoor yesterday and took about a billion photos of this waterfall at Watersmeet. I’ve been editing ALL DAY and now I feel like I need to go and lie down in a dark room😅

Second hand Sunday • You’re probably wondering

Second hand Sunday • You’re probably wondering what exactly I’m referring to in this particular photo, but this weeks #secondhandsunday item is the camera!

A couple of months ago, my dad bought himself a new camera, so he very kindly gave me his Canon 60D camera with a great Sigma lens, and a telephoto lens, along with pretty much a complete set of everything I’d need (macro filters, ND & Polarising filters, flashgun, shutter release button, etc, and a bag for it all to go in). I was so surprised - there was about £2k’s worth of kit there and for him to just give it to me was so, so generous🖤

When I can, I always buy any photography gear second hand from second hand camera shops or on eBay. I’ve also just purchased a prime lens which arrived in perfect condition and I love it. Obviously it goes without saying you do need to be extra wary when buying equipment like this online - I’ve been lucky so far but I can imagine there are lots of faulty or counterfeit products out there.

Anyway, here’s a photo from a dark, cloudy evening at the seafront the other night. Of course featuring everyone’s favourite low lighthouse 😉
