A 20-something girl from the Somerset countryside who writes about things on the internet.
I started blogging a couple of years ago about the same kinds of things you tend to see on blogs – the latest beauty products, how to be this and that, you know the stuff. At first it was a way to distract my mind from itself as I found myself at a loss with what I wanted to do after I suddenly quit a job that was affecting my mental health. Before long, I lost the passion for blogging because I felt like an imposter who was only going through the motions, but not actually finding a purpose in my writing. There’s so much pressure to be the ‘perfect blogger’, and I just didn’t fit the stereotype so I lost motivation quickly.
After taking an extended break from blogging due to having a complete crapstorm of a year, I have redesigned my mindset and focused on writing about things I’m truly passionate about. Over this past year I have become a vegan, written a book that will probably never see the light of day, overcome (most of) my mental health struggles, decluttered my space, read books, worked on my cooking, and I’ve been really honest with myself about what kind of person I want to be. I want to write about things that actually matter, not just about the latest lipstick release.
